I have ALWAYS had an eye for design and fashion. I was always going against the grain. Vibrantly painted bedroom walls with funky decor. Falling in love with timeless aesthetic pieces. Collecting vintage watches, purses and gold jewelry since the age of 3. I still remember that first locket, and the silk pearl snap button ups I begged my Grandmother to sew me, one in classic ivory and the other in vibrant turquoise.
Somewhere along the line, society began to shape me into a mold of "what everyone else was wearing" and "acceptable fashion". Growing up in a very small Agri community, it was common to value simple affordable and practical clothing. Think "denim, boots, simple Tee with an all around jacket". I still value simple and practical pieces, but I have REMEMBERED to harness SELF EXPRESSION.
I've always hated being put in a box or told what to do (SAG soul here), so Vault 88 was created to inspire all women to take themselves out of the box they got put in somewhere along the way. It's a space to challenge fashion fears and rules. To break norms and get a little uncomfortable. To nostalgically PLAY- with fabrics, colours, textures and your ever evolving tastes and self expression.
So wear the faux fur statement jacket to get groceries! Wear cowboy the boots even if they've never walked farmland! Wear the trousers in your home office! Choose pieces that speak to YOUR SOUL. No rules.
Push the envelope in fashion and be a walking expression of your truest self. Many people say I don't LOOK like a cattle rancher. I say, Good. I don't want to look like any label at all.
